Dr. David Bell, MD, Sports–trained orthopaedic surgeon, leads the Bell Sports Medicine Institute. He is committed to getting patients healthy, healed and fit, and to bring innovation to the highest quality orthopaedic care.
Specializing in Sports Medicine
He is in the first group of orthopaedic surgeons to receive a specialty certificate in Sports Medicine from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Bell trained at Stanford University, Baylor College of Medicine, the University of California at Irvine Medical Center, and completed a fellowship in Arthroscopic Surgery and Sports Medicine at the Fowler-Kennedy Clinic in Ontario, Canada.
Dr. Bell has over ten years of orthopaedic experience in the Bay Area. His reputation for outstanding results and specialized care draws patients from all over Northern California. He is the founding Medical Director of The Sports Medicine Center, a sports medicine program at the Washington Hospital Healthcare system, ranked among the top ten percent in the nation for orthopaedic surgery by Healthgrades.com.
He has served as the team physician for the San Jose Stealth Professional Lacrosse Team, Cal-State East Bay Pioneers, Ohlone College Renegades, and Valley Christian High School Vikings football team. Dr. Bell is affiliated with Velocity Sports Performance, and was the Velocity- Dublin Adult Fit Athlete of the Month in January 2009.
Dr. Bell’s interests include running and cycling, coaching youth sports, playing bass guitar in local rock band Batch-22, and hanging out with his wife and four kids.
